ESRARA is an organization that promotes the study and conservation of rock art in the region defined as the eastern half of the United States, from the Atlantic coast to the Great Plains of the Midwest, and from the boreal forests of the Great Lakes to the Gulf of Mexico.

The eastern United States is a vast area, with considerable diversity of natural habitats, physiography, and cultures.
ESRARA serves as a forum to connect scholarship over this great region.
